Vinted Users Express Displeasure Regarding Sizing Changes

Shoppers are voicing their frustration due to a modification that led to listings displaying inaccurate size information.

The second-hand shopping app has revised its sizing categories for women's and children's garments failing to inform all users about the change.

Online Platforms Backlash

Numerous buyers and vendors are posting online claiming that product pages now present a modified sizing category versus the original listing because of the remapping.

Vinted explained the new system was more in line with comparable marketplaces.

It has advised users to examine their items and adjust the sizing manually when needed, resulting in member annoyance.

Size Classification Updates

Before the change, the sizing featured one number and one letter, like S/8 or M/10.

The updated approach includes a letter and a range like S/UK 8-10.

In some cases, the size labels have been reassigned - for example a size L used to be a 12 but currently displays as UK 16-18.

Shopper Accounts

A fashion influencer, who makes TikTok content about plus-size fashion, stated the update "complicates both purchasing and selling".

"Not many brands say XL is a 20-22," the way the service now categorizes.

Another user, located in Scotland, stated items she posted featuring size 14 markings were appearing on the platform as larger sizing 20-22.

"Should someone sized 20-22 purchase these they may become frustrated," she said.

Necessary Adjustments

A different user, located in England, said she had been left angered by the change as she had to manually change the measurements for "each individual item".

"Personally, this is quite irritating, since I have chronic health issues and Vinted sales have been crucial for me since losing part of my income," she stated.

Service Background

The platform boasts over 100 million users, comprising 18 million UK members.

It has become a favored option compared to resale services such as eBay and Depop.

This isn't the first time where an unanticipated change to the app has proved unpopular: earlier, Vinted reversed a change to its shipping options after backlash from users.
